Ofgem authorisation deadline: 26 January 2027 – most operators haven't started

About

Professional compliance documents built by people who understand heat network regulation.

Why we built this

The Heat Networks (Market Framework) (GB) Regulations 2025 require all UK heat network operators to obtain Ofgem authorisation by 26 January 2027. That includes thousands of small and medium operators running just one or two communal heating networks – organisations that now need professional compliance documentation for the first time.

We saw a gap. Existing solutions target large portfolio operators with ongoing compliance management portals. But the majority of the market – operators with 1–3 networks – don’t need a portal. They need the documents themselves: well-structured, professionally formatted, built to exceed regulatory requirements, and ready to use in the tools they already have.

What makes these different

Every document is built around specific Ofgem authorisation conditions and consumer protection requirements. Each section tells you exactly what information is needed, with structured fields that guide you through what Ofgem expects. The formatting meets auditor expectations out of the box.

They work in standard office applications you already have. No new portal to learn. No subscription. Download, fill out, submit. Your data stays on your systems.

Our approach

Compliance documentation should be an asset, not a rental. When you purchase from Heat Network Compliance Hub, you own the files. You control where they are stored, who has access, and how they are used. No ongoing fees, no vendor lock-in.

Documents are built to exceed current requirements rather than just meet them – fewer updates needed when regulations tighten. When Ofgem does update requirements, a Document Refresh Service is available, but you always have the option to make changes yourself.

The regulatory basis

All documents are structured around publicly available regulatory material including the Heat Networks (Market Framework) (GB) Regulations 2025, Ofgem’s authorisation conditions, consumer protection guidance, and the HNTAS (TS1) consultation documents. Scottish products also reference the Heat Networks (Scotland) Act 2021.

For authoritative guidance, visit Ofgem’s heat networks section.
